Find the test here:
http://www.med-ed.virginia.edu/specialties/TestStructure.cfm

I've always been interested in pathology and endocrinology, and now this test agrees with me too.  I don't know why I scored so low in infectious diseases though.  We've been dealing with them since the first semester and I've already taken a liking to the subject...  I'm glad that immunology ranked high---all the lab work we're doing now would be put to good use.  Somehow, I feel bad about pediatrics being last.  I've never really had an affinity for children, but that doesn't mean I dislike them.  I want to be good with them, but I don't know how.  Of course, the results from this test won't be the sole basis for my career options, but it helps that I know which specialties suit my personality best.

Enough academic talk--- I slept most of the morning away.  Naturally, waking up to a bright room gave me another headache, but that's probably still due to fatigue.  We've practiced dancing all week, and I never got home earlier than 9 pm (thank heavens I don't have a curfew).  I don't know what to make of my performance this week though.  I aced the 2nd stool unknown for parasitology (I found 9 helminth eggs!  I beat the crap out of that stool!!!  Vengeance is sweet.), and pathology was fine (although I nearly went mad over making my first mistake after not making any in all the quizzes so far...  I really don't mean to brag, I'm just finding an outlet for all this pent up frustration), but I didn't do so well on the nutrition lab exam (They gave us so many formulas to memorize!  Can I be blamed for choosing to focus on that instead of knowing how to breed experimental mice?) and the microbiology quiz, which I don't even want to talk about.

At this point, I've realized that my life has turned me into a nerd in denial...  or worse, a nerd in denial, who is also alone.

I know he doesn't want me anymore.  I hate feeling so stupid because I can't get over that fact, and because no one's helping me.  I am so tired of taking care of everyone around me, but right now, it's the only way I can get by.  That's what you do when you want to forget that no one's taking care of you.

Second Sem

Posted on 2007.11.17 at 15:30

I've updated!  It's been too long.  To everyone I failed to greet on their birthday-- I'm really sorry.

My Schedule:

M-Th
8:00am-12:00pm  Parasitology
1:00pm-5:00pm  Nutrition

T-W-F
8:00am-12:00pm Gen. Pathology
1:00pm-5:00pm  Med. Microbiology

We're busy preparing for this year's Lantern Parade, and we have to finish it soon because the NMAT is just around the corner (Dec. 9).  We had our first unknown in Microbio this week-- I'm almost sure that mine is Streptococcus pneumoniae.  All I've been doing lately is pass, I have to work ridiculously hard if I want to graduate with a Latin title.  It's inevitable that my GPA took a hit-- what with all that unwanted drama and bitternes and tragedy.  It feels terrible because I know I can do better...  and I'll try, this time.

It's been so tiring.  I don't think I've ever been this thankful that the first week is over.

Try it!

Instead of using Yahoo or the original Google as your search engine, try going to http://www.blackle.com .  This engine still makes use of Google custom seach, only the webpage is black.  Monitors require less electricity displaying a black screen than a white one.  The difference may be quite minimal, but if this campaign succeeds, then we might just be able to save 750 Megawatt-hours in one year.

(Now I know so very well that you are autistic, my son. And since that day I knew, my life has been one emotional roller-coaster ride… But I tell you with all honesty, and I repeat this over and over, if the Creator would give me the chance to trace back my life and start again, if I were made to choose what to do or not do, I would have no ifs and buts in seeking and taking the same path toward you, my son, I will take you, and hand in hand we will make the journey together.)

We're set to interview her this month, and I can't wait.

Current Music: Kiss from a Rose
Poem To The Other Woman
By Trinidad Tarrosa-Subido

My heart knew only hate for you at first
Seeing your laughter priced at my pain;
The sating of your spirit, at my thirst;
Sun of your heavens, at my heaven’s rain.
O but the brightest rose smile is bedewed,
And slaking fountains latterly run dry,
This season’s sun is only a prelude
To a tomorrow’s rain: so all things die.
Light of his love had shone for me, and waned—
So from your vision shall it vanish, too;
His new love seeing, O you shall be pained
With this fierce pain I feel at seeing you.
You whom I hated only, at the start—
How I do pity you deep in my heart!

... but for the first time in my life, I CUT A CLASS!!!

I skipped Chem 14 today from 10:00-11:30 am to study for Histo 5 and Philo 1. I knew that after the thrill wears off, I'd feel guilty, so I promised myself I'd drown in Chem this weekend to make up for the missed lesson. Besides, our Chem prof isn't really an effective teacher. I probably wouldn't have understood the topic anyway. Histo and Philo combined weigh more in units that Chem, so the sacrifice was worth it, right?

Oh no. I'm justifying... *shrug*

Haha. That was fun. :)

Before anything else, MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!!!

We've just been to QC to see our remaining relatives here. Haha... I missed Lola Annie's positively sinful cooking.

I'm in a hurry right now because we're leaving for Baguio tomorrow morning and I haven't packed yet.

My dearest Esers, I'm REALLY sorry I can't come to the party. (I won't be home until Friday.) I miss you too much...

Enjoy the last few days of the year!!! =)

Handwriting Analysis

What does your handwriting say about YOU?

The results of your analysis say:

You plan ahead, and are interested in beauty, design, outward appearance, and symmetry.
You are a social person who likes to talk and meet others.
You are diplomatic, objective, and live in the present.
You are a talkative person, maybe even a busybody!
You enjoy life in your own way and do not depend on the opinions of others.

I expect that this semester will be the best one yet.

We’ve got a great roster of professors, and, much to my blockmates’ dismay, we have Social Dance for PE! How delightful. I’m dreading Chem 14 and 14.1 though…

And I thought our Nat Sci 2 professor was a horror. On our first meeting, he walked into the classroom, sat down, and took one look at me, as if to say “Alright, you will be my target for the rest of the semester.” And plague the life out of me, he did. Ooh, I’ve never been so insulted and piqued on in class.

Come second meeting, I decided he wasn’t that bad. He still did drop an occasional nasty comment every once in a while, but if being recognized (and tormented) will help me get an uno then I’ll have to bear with it.

On a lighter note,

I'M STILL BREATHING!!!

The Komunikasyon test was okay, and I'm happy knowing I won't fail Math 17. By some miracle, I got a flat uno in Kasaysayan (hope it pulls up my average). Soc Sci and Nat Sci are pretty good too...

... It was an interesting term, but I swear I'll do better next time. (The cut-off for UP Med for girls is atleast 1.25, while it's 1.75 for boys... yeah, the boys are still smiling and slacking off)

Gracey must study for her Chem quiz tomorrow.

Gracey must also study for her Chem Departmental Exam on Wednesday.

Gracey must bury herself in Trigonometry in order to get a decent grade in Math 17 (and she senses there will be a quiz tomorrow too).

Gracey must prepare for the Komunikasyon exam on Thursday.

Gracey must watch out for part 2 of the Komunikasyon exam that will be sent any time this week.

Gracey must finish four long essays for Kasaysayan by Friday.

Gracey must finalize the script for the Christmas play, also due on Friday.

Gracey must bear the painful side-effects of the medicine she's taking.

"What the ancients called a clever fighter is one who not only wins, but excels in winning with ease. But his victories bring him neither reputation for wisdom nor credit for courage... He wins his battles by making no mistakes. Making no mistakes is what establishes the certainty of victory, for it means conquering an enemy that is already defeated."

Sun Tzu is right.

I can't afford to make another mistake.

I've been trying to move on far too long already.
